When you talk about transfers that shock the world, Robinho's move to Manchester City has to be right up there.

The Brazilian swapped Real Madrid for the blue half of Manchester before the noisy neighbours were really even threatening the top four in 2008.

Robinho was the first marquee signing made by City's new owners

In fact, their final game of the 2007/08 season ended in an 8-1 defeat to Middlesbrough.

But Robinho was wooed by City's new riches and arrived for a club-record fee in September 2008, instantly becoming a hero at the Etihad.

And, in an interview with the Daily Mail, the now Atletico Mineiro star has shed light on why he was such a hit on and off the field at City.

Robinho's party-going antics were well documented during his two years in Manchester, but he's very casually revealed that he was far from alone.

He said: "I liked Manchester, the club, the restaurants... but let us not forget the discoteca.

"There was an image of me as a party guy. And yes, I liked to party. But you know, the English boys were going out more than the Brazilians!

"Joe Hart was out all the time, Micah Richards the same, Shaun Wright-Phillips was always out! But when the Brazilians went out we were always caught."

Hart, Richards and Wright-Phillips.

Now there's an eclectic night out line up.
