Chelsea news: Carlo Ancelotti on stand-by to replace Antonio Conte

CHELSEA are eyeing up a potential reunion with Carlo Ancelotti with Antonio Conte’s future still in doubt.

Ancelotti was unceremoniously sacked by Bayern Munich last month after a 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

And the Italian coach has become one of the most sought after managers since he left the Bundesliga giants.

Both Leicester and Everton have been linked with Ancelotti recently with Craig Shakespeare and Ronald Foeman losing their jobs.

But he was spotted at Stamford Bridge last week, prompting rumours he could be eyeing up a return to the club.

Ancelotti coached Chelsea from 2009 to 2011 where he led the Blues to their first ever domestic double of the Premier League and FA Cup.

And his win percentage in the English top flight at the time of his departure was the third-highest in Premier League history, behind only Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Now with Conte’s future still up in the air, The Sun claim Chelsea are prepared to offer Ancelotti a return to England.

It is reported the club do not expect Conte to see out his 20 months at Chelsea and they are preparing for his exit.

Ancelotti is said to be keen on a return to the Premier League and reportedly holds no hard feelings towards Roman Abramovich for relieving him of his duties.
