Harry Kane reached a major career landmark on Saturday in Spurs’ 3-0 win at Everton when he notched his 100th goal in all competition for Tottenham.
Kane hit the 100 mark in the 28th minute when his attempted cross flew over Toffee’s keeper Jordan Pickford and into the net.
The England hitman later added his 101st goal with a simple finish early in the second half to get his bid for a third successive Premier League Golden Boot award firmly under way.
Of his 100 goals, 79 came in the Premier League, while the FA Cup accounts for five, the League cup four and 12 in other competitions.
The ever modest striker admitted later that it was a fluke, saying: “I got a lucky one but sometimes you need that,” said Kane.
But he was happy to reach the landmark: “It is fantastic. It has been a crazy few years and to get the 100th goal was amazing. Hopefully I can get a few more.”
Manager Mauricio Pochettino was also pleased with his star striker: “I’m happy that he has scored 100 goals for Tottenham.
“He deserves a lot of praise – congratulations to him. It is an unbelievable mark for him.”
Now all he needs to do is score a goal in August!
