Lewis Morgan netted a brace as St Mirren ended Dundee United's 100 per cent start to the Ladbrokes Championship season with a 3-0 win.
The hosts took the lead after 26 minutes when Morgan fired in from outside the box to take his tally for the season to four goals in all competitions.
St Mirren came close to extending their advantage with nine minutes of the first half remaining when Ian McShane's free-kick was spilled by visiting goalkeeper Harry Lewis but Gregor Buchanan's follow-up effort hit a post.
The home side hit the frame of the goal once again just before the break, with McShane's corner clattering the bar in the 43rd minute.
Morgan doubled his side's lead three minutes into the second half, finding the bottom corner of Lewis' net with his curling effort.
And McShane put the icing on the cake in the 78th minute when he scored his first goal for St Mirren from the edge of the area.
