Cristiano Ronaldo is the best footballer in the world, according to new Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci.
Thirty year old Bonucci completed a stunning transfer earlier this week, which saw him break up the highly-regarded defensive line at Serie A champions Juventus to join fallen giants Milan in a shock £35m move.
In fulfilling his his media obligations following his transfer the Italy centre-half was quizzed on a number of topics ranging from his personal achievements to those of his peers.
When asked who he thought was his toughest ever opponent, he told reporters, (via Football Italia): "Cristiano Ronaldo. He's the best player I've ever faced. He has all the characteristics of a champion."
Ronaldo, favourite to win this year's Ballon d'Or which'll see him move level on five with Lionel Messi, has enjoyed a stellar 12 months in which he guided Real to back-to-back Champions League titles as well as helping Portugal win their first major international tournament.
The Portuguese once again showcased his prowess in front of goal last seasons, as the 32-year-old forward made 46 appearances across all competitions in the season just gone registering 42 goals and 12 assists.
Ronaldo, who's Real Madrid's all-time leading goal scorer having registered 406 goals in 394 matches, couldn't help Portugal win this summer's Confederations Cup being held in Russia though recently celebrated being a father again following the birth of twins.
