Wayne Rooney's decline in FIFA games is utterly heartbreaking

He was once the golden boy of English football.
But these days, Wayne Rooney isn't the player he used to be – and he put in yet another anonymous display against Bournemouth,
However, it's not just in real life where his ability seems to be on the wane.
His FIFA stats tell an equally sad story as the Manchester United ace slides down the player rankings.
Rooney is near the top of his game – showing strong pace and passing.
In FIFA 11, he's a tad quicker, but his overall rating dips slightly.
Once again, Rooney is a force to be reckoned with but there are some signs he's already slowing down.
By FIFA 13, his pace is down to 79, a long way off his high of 85.
He's also dropped back down to 89.
Rooney is starting to drop speed points fast – and a score of 76 is his slowest yet.
Passing is still high, but by FIFA 15 this starts sliding too.
Defence is a career low of 44.
His overall rating is four points off his best.
Rooney's pace drops yet again in FIFA 16, but his rating stays at 86.
Passing is down slightly, and shooting has taken a dip.
By FIFA 17, he's dropped another two points – bringing his overall rating his lowest yet.
Pace is now at 71, 14 points lower than his highest score.
An overall of 84 is a massive six points down on his top score of 90 in FIFA 12.
Let's hope Rooney can pick it back up again in FIFA 18.
