West Ham failed with a deadline day bid for Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, it has been revealed.
Don Balon says minutes after the sale of Dimitri Payet to Marseille was rubberstamped, West Ham made contact with Real to make a huge bid for James.
The Hammers put on the table close to €100 MILLION for the Colombian, funded in part by the €30 million raised from the Payet deal.
James, via agents, contacted the Irons and thanked them for the offer, but rejected the move.
The midfielder has insisted he only wants to leave Real for another major Champions League club.
