Blackburn vs Leeds - Blackburn sweating on fitness of Hope Akpan for Leeds clash

Blackburn boss Owen Coyle is waiting on Hope Akpan ahead of Rovers' Sky Bet Championship clash with Leeds.

Akpan was forced off during the FA Cup win over Blackpool with a knock and will be assessed ahead of Wednesday's game.

Liam Feeney missed the game with a broken nose and will also be checked on before the game while Charlie Mulgrew (groin) could return to the side.

New signings Lucas Joao and Marvin Emnes - back for a second loan deal - could both feature while Tommy Hoban (shoulder) remains sidelined but is expected to be back in training at the end of the week.

There will be wholesale changes from Garry Monk's visitors.

Monk made 10 alterations to his line-up for the shock FA Cup defeat to Sutton on Sunday and is set to revert to his strongest side.

The likes of Robert Green, Kyle Bartley, Pontus Jansson, Kemar Roofe and Chris Wood are expected to return to the starting XI while Hadi Sacko made his comeback from injury at the weekend and is pushing for another run out.

Leeds' transfer deadline day signing Alfonso Pedraza will not be available to play as the Whites search for their first away league win of 2017.
