Blackpool 0 - 0 Oldham Athletic AFC: Spoils shared between Blackpool and Oldham

Relegation-threatened Oldham extended their unbeaten run to three games but were left to rue several near misses as they drew 0-0 at Blackpool.

Blackpool came agonisingly close to opening the scoring after five minutes but were denied by an improvised goalline clearance from Danny Lafferty, who backheeled Jim McAlister's header against the post and away.

Oldham are League One's lowest scorers but went close after 23 minutes when Aaron Amadi-Holloway slipped through Jonathan Forte who whistled a shot inches wide from 18 yards.

The Latics started the second half brightly and came within inches of the lead as Matt Palmer's teasing cross just evaded both Forte and Rhys Murphy as it flashed past the far post.

And they should have finally taken the lead after 73 minutes but Dean Lyness got a strong hand to Lafferty's strike before Curtis Main headed over from six yards.

The hosts had a chance to snatch it after 79 minutes, but Martin Paterson headed straight at Joel Coleman from six yards as Oldham notched their 14th draw of the season.
