PSV Eindhoven vs CSKA Moscow - Cocu seeking 'unforgettable evening' as PSV take on CSKA

PSV Eindhoven boss Phillip Cocu has vowed his side will do everything in their power to ensure Tuesday's crunch Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow is an "unforgettable" and triumphant occasion for the Dutch club.

A win at the Philips Stadion in what is their final Group B contest will guarantee PSV - currently third in the pool - a place in the knockout stages of the competition for the first time since 2006-07.

And Cocu, quoted on the club's official website, said: "We will do everything to make this an unforgettable evening."

The way the group has shaped up means that PSV would make it through with a draw on Tuesday if second-placed Manchester United lose at leaders Wolfsburg.

But Cocu stressed: "We go into the game with the objective to win.

"We need belief and must also make sure we are well prepared."

While PSV are unbeaten in their last nine games in all competitions, their opponents are on a six-match winless run that has featured five defeats, and their chance to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League has already gone.

But CSKA still have something to play for on Tuesday, knowing a win will secure them third place and, thus, qualification for the Europa League.

And Cocu, whose men lost the reverse fixture in Russia 3-2 in September, is wary of the difficulties they could encounter.

"We are aware of the performances of CSKA Moscow," Cocu said.

"But almost every Russian team has technically skilled players, and they are also teams that are excellent at securing a result."

PSV midfielder Jorrit Hendrix is also anticipating a stern test from Leonid Slutsky's side in what the 20-year-old feels is the biggest match of his career to date.

"It is perhaps the most important game I've ever played," Hendrix said.

"There are many interests at stake tomorrow. We will play to win, but they are also going for their last chance. I expect a tough match."
