Portsmouth vs Macclesfield Town - Marc McNulty could make Portsmouth bow in FA Cup tie after joining on loan

Portsmouth have signed striker Marc McNulty on an emergency loan from Sheffield United and he could make his Pompey debut in the FA Cup against Macclesfield on Saturday.

However, manager Paul Cook is without several first-team players as Portsmouth go in search of their first FA Cup victory since defeating Tottenham in the 2010 semi-finals.

Paul Jones (knee), Gary Roberts (ankle), Jayden Stockley (ankle) and Jack Whatmough (knee) all remain on the sidelines.

The on-loan Caolan Lavery is not eligible to feature either, but Ipswich have given permission for Matt Clarke to participate.

Neill Byrne and Theo Bailey-Jones remain sidelined for Macclesfield, who have at least seen their injury worries ease ahead of the trip south.

Chris Holroyd returned from injury to start against Braintree last weekend while Paul Lewis was able to come off the bench.

While Byrne and Bailey-Jones remain sidelined, the Silkmen hope to have Danny Rowe back from illness.

"We've got people coming back and hopefully for the rest of the season it will make us stronger when we need to be," manager John Askey said.
