Falkirk's bid for promotion from the Ladbrokes Scottish Championship was boosted by a 3-0 win over St Mirren who finished the game with nine men.

Falkirk took control of the game in the first half with goals from Craig Sibbald and John Baird. Sibbald opened the scoring after 18 minutes when he headed in a Baird cross and the latter netted the second with another header three minutes before the break, this time from a Paul Watson cross.

St Mirren were reduced to 10 men just after the hour when Jack Baird was shown a red card and with 15 minutes to go Falkirk scored a third goal through Will Vaulks.

St Mirren, who dropped into the bottom three as a result of the defeat, had Craig Reid sent off with three minutes to go.
