Wigan Athletic vs Walsall - Will Grigg hopes elbow woe subsides before Wigan host Walsall

Will Grigg will have his elbow checked once more before Wigan decide if he can start against his old club Walsall at the DW Stadium.

The Northern Ireland international came off the bench to score a late equaliser against Millwall on Tuesday but has only been in non-contact training due to an injury which has proved more problematic than was first thought.

Loan signing Yanic Wildschut could make his debut but Jordan Flores is suspended for another two fixtures following his dismissal against Oldham.

Boss Gary Caldwell has revealed centre-back Jason Pearce has knee ligament damage and will miss a couple of weeks.

Grant Holt (knee) and Don Cowie (calf) built up their fitness again with the development squad in midweek and are inching closer to first-team returns but Kevin McNaughton (knee) is a long-term absentee and Craig Davies continues to be troubled by hamstring issues.

Rico Henry signed a new contract with Walsall running until 2018 on Friday and could start after scoring the winner in Tuesday's 1-0 win at Scunthorpe.

Isaiah Osbourne is yet to make his Saddlers debut after signing until the end of the season but has been battling a knee injury since last month.

Neil Etheridge and Jason Demetriou are available before they link up with the Philippines and Cyprus respectively for international duty.

Tom Bradshaw missed out on a senior Wales call up and will lead the Saddlers' attack as he looks for his ninth goal of the season.
