Newport vs Cheltenham preview - Zebroski's future in doubt

Posted Thursday, March 12, 2015 by PA

Chris Zebroski may not play again this season after being charged with assault and attempted robbery at Swindon Crown Court.

The Newport striker, who was already due to miss Friday night's game through suspension, will have his future decided by a board meeting.

Aaron O'Connor and Rene Howe are also missing, leaving manager Jimmy Dack short of options in attack and looking to bring in somebody on a temporary deal.

Ismail Yakubu is also an injury worry for Dack after limping out of the 2-1 defeat to Stevenage before the hour, with Kevin Freely his likely replacement.

Cheltenham boss Russell Milton has two new faces to call upon for the trip to Newport.

Danny Haynes played 90 minutes on Saturday after arriving at the club the day before, while Will Packwood's arrival from Birmingham gives Milton another option in defence.

The Robins boss admitted he may be forced into rotating the side ahead of a busy run of fixtures, but downplayed any fears that Matt Taylor is struggling with knee problems.

Shaun Harrad could return to the line-up after he dropped to the bench in the 1-1 draw with Mansfield and Jordan Wynter is still pushing for a recall.
