Port Vale vs Doncaster Rovers preview - Dodds set to boost Vale

Louis Dodds could return to the Port Vale squad against Doncaster while Michael Brown is expected to recover from a knock.

Both players trained on Thursday as Valiants boss Rob Page weighed up his options ahead of Saturday's game. Dodds has been out for a month with a broken toe while Brown was forced off with a foot injury during last weekend's win over Walsall.

Striker Dodds will probably have to settle for a place on the bench. Page must decide whether he is joined by Brown, whose place in midfield may be under threat from his replacement at the Banks's Stadium - Chris Lines.

On-loan Crystal Palace central defender Ryan Inniss will start again after his impressive debut in the 1-0 victory against the Saddlers.

Doncaster, unbeaten away in the league since October, will check on Harry Forrester.

The winger missed the midweek win over Crewe after sustaining a groin injury against Yeovil the previous weekend.

After substitute appearances in the last two matches, former Manchester City midfielder Abdul Razak will be hoping to make his full debut soon. The likes of Theo Robinson and Curtis Main are also options for Rovers boss Paul Dickov should he wish to make any changes to his team.

Defender Luke McCullough returned to the squad on Tuesday night after a thigh problem and midfielder James Coppinger, who has also been absent recently with a ankle injury, should be back in contention as well shortly.
