Huddersfield Town vs Leeds United preview - Hogg worry for Huddersfield
Posted Friday, January 30, 2015 by PA
Huddersfield midfielder Jonathan Hogg is a major doubt for Huddersfield's home game against derby rivals Leeds.
Hogg missed last week's win at Wigan due to an unspecified knock he is still struggling with, so recent loan signing David Edgar is poised for his home debut.
Striker James Vaughan was a surprise inclusion in the starting line-up at Wigan after fracturing his cheekbone and eye socket in the previous week's defeat at Middlesbrough and is expected to resume with the aid of a protective mask.
Winger Harry Bunn and defender Murray Wallace both appeared as late substitutes last week after respective hamstring injuries and are pushing for recalls.
Leeds are expected to include new signings Sol Bamba and Granddi Ngoyi in their squad.
Bamba could start in central defence as Giuseppe Bellusci begins a two-game ban following his dismissal in Leeds' recent win against Bournemouth while midfielder Ngoyi also hopes to be in contention. Both players arrived on loan from Palermo this week.
Striker Steve Morison has been nursing a hip problem, which forced him out of the Bournemouth match, but head coach Neil Redfearn is confident he will resume up front.
Defender Gaetano Berardi, plus strikers Billy Sharp, Souleymane Doukara and Mirco Antenucci are all in contention as Leeds chase their first away win since mid-September.
