Yeovil Town 0 : 3 Leyton Orient - O's climb clear of drop zone

Leyton Orient ended the year by climbing out of the bottom four with a 3-0 win at fellow relegation candidates Yeovil.

Yeovil have won just one league game at home this season and enter the New Year rooted to the foot of the table.

The Glovers enjoyed the better of the first-half play, but were restricted to half-chances from Simon Gillett and James Hayter.

The Os took the lead in the 33rd minute with their first real spirited attack as Bradley Pritchard's deep cross was well met by Chris Dagnall, who headed home his eighth goal of the season.

The hosts were almost two goals down early in the second half when Ben Nugent was forced to clear off his goal-line after Dagnall's flicked effort, while goalkeeper Jed Steer was called into action moments later from Pritchard's 20-yard effort.

Fresh from an injury lay-off, the returning Kevin Lisbie struck the second in the 62nd minute when he slotted home after Steer had pushed a shot straight out to him.

Dean Cox sent the 217 hardy travelling supporters home happy when he was allowed to pick his spot in the 85th minute.

Yeovil played with all the confidence of a side heading for Sky Bet League Two ahead of Sunday's FA Cup third-round clash with Manchester United.
