Barnsley boss Danny Wilson marked his 1,000th competitive game as a manager in style as his 10-man side beat struggling Leyton Orient 2-0.
Reds' top-scorer Conor Hourihane put the home side ahead in the 13th minute, latching on to Kane Hemmings' through-ball before rounding Orient goalkeeper Adam Legzdins and slotting his 10th league goal of the season into an empty net.
The home side doubled their lead seven minutes before the break when Dale Jennings seized on Scott Cuthbert's poor pass to tee-up Devante Cole and the on-loan Manchester City striker calmly finished through the legs of Legzdins.
Orient substitute Dean Cox had the visitors' first meaningful attempt on goal, but his low 20-yard shot on the hour-mark went wide.
Barnsley midfielder Luke Berry then saw his close-range volley well saved by Legzdins before Reds goalkeeper Ross Turnbull repelled Cox's drive from distance.
Turnbull was dismissed in the 74th minute when he was adjudged to have handled the ball outside his penalty area with Shaun Batt powering towards goal, but the home side held on to record a first win in five league games.
