Oxford United 2 - 2 Tranmere Rovers - Koumas earns Rovers a replay

Jason Koumas rolled back the years to earn Tranmere a replay as the former Wales international's equaliser 14 minutes from time earned them a 2-2 draw with Oxford.

The first half was full of errors, and Rovers took a deserved lead in the 33rd minute when Cole Stockton scored with an audacious flick from Shamir Fenelon's left-wing cross.

Fenelon should have put Rovers two up soon after, as he out-muscled Johnny Mullins out of the way but then, with just Clarke to beat, he blazed high over the bar from 12 yards.

Yet Oxford were a different proposition in an exciting second half. Callum O'Dowda and Danny Rose both shot wide before Tyrone Barnett struck twice in five minutes.

Barnett rose high to head in Rose's corner from two yards just before the hour mark.

Then, in the 64th minute, the big striker scored a brilliant individual effort, showing good close control from Joe Riley's pass before drilling home a low shot from 14 yards.

However, just three minutes after he had come on as a substitute, Koumas curled in a superb effort from 25 yards which bent just inside Clarke's right-hand post, to make it 2-2.
