Luton Town vs Newport County preview - Hatters duo set to miss cup clash

Luton are again expected to be without Alex Lawless and Pelly Ruddock for Saturday's FA Cup first-round tie against Newport.

Both sat out last weekend's draw at Exeter and are unlikely to be risked here.

Defenders Curtley Williams and Paul Connolly are also still sidelined for the Hatters, having been out since early September.

John Still insists he will not make "drastic changes" to his side after the club lost to Welling with a weakened team in this competition last term.

Newport will have a new captain when they make the trip.

Regular skipper Andy Sandell will sit out the clash having been sent off for the second time this season as they drew 2-2 with Hartlepool last weekend and Darren Jones will take the armband in his absence.

The Exiles hope Charlton loanee Joe Pigott, who missed last weekend's clash due to illness, will be given the green light by his parent club to be involved.

Swansea loanees James Loveridge, Curtis Obeng and Scott Tancock and Peterborough goalkeeper Joe Day will be able to feature against Newport's League Two rivals under the terms of their loan deals.
