Wycombe Wanderers vs Northampton Town preview - No worries for Wycombe

Posted Friday, October 03, 2014 by PA

Wycombe could name an unchanged line-up when they look to extend their unbeaten Sky Bet League Two run to eight games against Northampton.

A settled XI has been crucial in the Chairboys' shock rise to second place in the table and boss Gareth Ainsworth looks unlikely to shuffle his pack with defender Gary Doherty their only definite absentee.

Paul Hayes will continue up front having scored his 100th professional goal to see off Cambridge while Wycombe will name the same back four that has started every match this season.

Northampton star Marc Richards will return for their trip to Adams Park.

The League Two eight-goal top scorer missed the 1-0 win at Morecambe with a hamstring injury.

Danny Alfei (hamstring), Kelvin Langmead (Achilles), Emile Sinclair (ankle) and Matt Duke (thigh) will all start training next week to ease the injury issues at Sixfields.

Boss Chris Wilder told the club's official website: "Every professional footballer will tell you being injured is the worst part, especially when they are at a good club and they want to be back."
