After Arsenal beat Borham Wood 2-0 in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, Arsene Wenger fielded some questions from press.
One of the issues to come up was the picture of Jack Wilshere smoking whilst on holiday, and the issue was posed to the Gunners boss.
Wenger said that he hasn’t yet spoken to Wislhere about the incident, despite the fact that the England international returned to training last week, however when pressed on his thoughts in general, the Professor brushed off the episode saying he isn’t “deeply concerned”.
Whilst Wenger is of course entitled to his current viewpoint, it’s worth remember one esteemed Premier League manager’s thoughts on smoking from 2013.
I disagree completely with that behaviour. I need to have a chat with him about that.
You don’t do what damages your health as a footballer. You damage your reputation when you do that in public.
So who said the quote, and who was the footballer in question?
Oh yeah. Arsene Wenger and Jack Wilshere.
