Inter is planning to continue its Premier League recruitment drive with a move for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.

Inter president Erick Thohir is understood to have been in attendance at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night for the Blues’ 2-0 Champions League triumph over Paris Saint-Germain.

The midfielder, who has started just nine Premier League games during Jose Mourinho’s second spell with Chelsea, is considered a realistic transfer target by the Nerazzurri.

Thohir is developing relationships with a number of Premier League clubs ahead of a planned summer overhaul at San Siro.

Inter has already secured the signing of free agent Nemanja Vidic, who will leave Manchester United at the end of the season.

As revealed by Goal, the Serie A side also maintains an interest in Fernando Torres, but believe a season-long loan deal for the striker could be difficult to secure and has made Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko the new No.1 target for the summer.

Goal also understands City midfielder Javi Garcia is a target for Inter, but the Etihad Stadium outfit would want to recoup the 16 million euros spent on the former Benfica man.

Thohir has publicly declared the club’s interest in both Torres and Dzeko, as well as Arsenal fullback Bacary Sagna.
