East Fife 1 : 3 Brechin City - Brechin break away duck

Posted Sunday, December 22, 2013 by PA

Brechin beat East Fife 3-1 to record their first league victory on the road this term and leapfrog their rivals in League One.

City hit the front on the half-hour mark when Andy Jackson got on the end of a cutback before finishing into the bottom corner for his eighth goal of the campaign.

Half-time substitute Bobby Barr's low drive gave Brechin breathing space in the 54th minute but Fifers midfielder Ryan Stewart scored with a glancing header on 70 minutes to set up a nervy finish.

Derek Carcary's left-footed strike a minute from time settled the contest and gave Brechin their second win of the season over East Fife.
