In an interview with Adidas – his first since sealing his dream move to Real Madrid – Gareth Bale gushed about his new adventure. "The unveiling was an amazing experience and one I'll never forget", he stated.
One of the most eye-catching moments of the day at the Bernabéu came when an image was shown of the Welshman wearing a Real Madrid shirt as a kid. On the subject, Bale quipped that it was "a picture I wasn't too keen to be released because I was so young", while stressing that 'Los Blancos' "have always been a standout team for me and I've always loved the white kit of Real Madrid".
Another highlight for the fans was when the new Real idol said his first words in Spanish. "It's something I really want to learn. I think it's important to learn the language. I think it shows respect for the country, trying to learn the culture and the language". Though admitting "it's not going to be easy", the forward said that he would be striving to get the hang of Spanish as quickly as possible to help him "settle in a lot quicker".
Lastly, ahead of his eagerly awaited debut at the Santiago Bernabéu, the Welsh wizard looked back fondly on his previous visit to the stadium, in the Champions League with Tottenham: "It was one of the [most] amazing experiences I've had. For me it's the best stadium I've ever been to".
