Guardiola:

Bayern Munich coach Josep Guardiola dedicated his team's victory in the European Super Cup over Chelsea in Prague last night to his predecessor, Jupp Heynckes. "I thank my players for giving me this final, which I dedicate to Jupp Heynckes. It's down to him that we are here. It was an incredible experience," he said after the game.

"Bayern has now won all the trophies in the world and we are very proud," he added.

The Spanish coach stressed the importance of the role played by defender Javi Martínez, who managed to equalise in the dying moments and forced a penalty shoot-out. "He is very important for us and it is amazing we were able to buy him. He's not 100% yet, but he has willpower and played really well," Guardiola said.

"Beating Chelsea and Mourinho is very difficult and I'm very happy because of it," Guardiola said. "We played well in centre of the park and on the wing, we controlled Chelsea on the break...sometimes you need a bit of luck and we got some," the former Barcelona manager explained.

Regarding his first few months in charge of Bayern, he had this to say: "I wish that during the whole period of adaptation we played like we did today. I have to get used to the culture. Germans are more direct, less deliberating. Overall I am very happy to have the chance I've been given to come here and coach these players," he added.
