Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp insists his side's profligacy in Friday's 1-0 Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen is nothing to get worried about.

Poland international Robert Lewandowski scored a tap-in in the 55th minute to hand BVB all three points at the Signal Iduna Park, but the result could have been more convincing if they had been able to make the most of their chances.

Nonetheless, after watching his side claim their third straight win to continue a perfect start to the new campaign, Klopp insists there were plenty of positives to focus on.

"I thought we started well," he said on the club's official website. "We played well but we were not able to get through their defence.

"We wanted to play with pace but that degenerated quickly into just playing hectic. That was not the plan and after 27 or 28 minutes I was thinking, 'what's going on now'? since we had shifted down a gear and lost our doggedness.

"But we performed well in the second half, the foot was no longer removed from the gas.

"The leadership was important and, of course, it did not surprise me that Lewy [Lewandowski] scored the goal. He worked like a bull."

Klopp did admit their wastefulness was something he would be hoping to rectify in the coming days, but claims he was still happy with their display.

"I do not think that, after nine points from three games, having so much profligacy is the best thing," he added.

"But missed opportunities are part of our game that we need to improve on and in all other areas we still have room for improvement.

"But what can I complain about? We brutally handled a venomous opponent for at least 80 minutes."

After watching his side lose the league crown to Bayern Munich last term, Klopp will be aiming to make it three titles in four seasons this year.
