Xavi: "I didn't mean to put anybody down with my words"

Xavi Hernández made some controversial statements last Sunday after the game against Levante in which he questioned the training methods employed last season during the months in which Tito Vilanova was in New York recovering from his illness.
The midfielder said that the tactical aspects of their game were not worked on, which appeared to be a slight towards Jordi Roura, who replaced Vilanova during his lengthy absence.
Xavi clarified those statements. "Yes, what I said was misinterpreted. I just wanted to say that we would have worked harder on the tactical aspect of our game and would have been stronger under Tito. We had a lot of problems during that period. Circumstances made things very difficult. I didn't mean to put anybody down," the midfielder said.
