The Spaniard says the Brazilian star will help improve the Catalan side and is looking forward to facing his new colleague on Sunday
Andres Iniesta says Neymar has made the right decision in moving to Barcelona as he prepares to come face-to-face with his new team-mate in the Confederations Cup final.
Spain take on Brazil at the Maracana on Sunday and Iniesta says he is looking forward to linking up with the 21-year-old next season after he signed a five-year contract with the Spanish champions.
“Neymar is a spectacular player and will help us continue to accomplish things at Barcelona,” he told Marca.
“He will continue to grow as a player and in my opinion he has come to the right place to do so.”
Before then there is the small matter of Sunday's final and Iniesta, a World Cup winner with Spain, believes the current Brazilian side are still as intimidating as their great teams of the past.
"[Brazil] is the world's most powerful national team,” he added.
“I shared a dressing room with the likes of Ronaldinho and Rivaldo. I came to La Masia the year Ronaldo was there.
“I remember [losing the U20 World Cup final in 2003] with sadness. That game was very cruel. Revenge? I do not like that word, football always tends to give you more opportunities.”
“I believe the whistles [of the crowd] show they respect us [Spain]. We need to convert our motivation into going out to play.
"In the end, people pay their entry fees and can manifest their feelings as they want. We cannot get angry about that."
