Jo$e set to cash in with £20m from Blues endorsements
NO WONDER HE'S SMILING ... Mourinho will cash in at Chelsea

JOSE MOURINHO will become the Even Happier One — as he could earn £20million from endorsements at Chelsea.

France Football claim Mourinho was already the world’s highest-paid manager — both inside and outside the dugout — while at Real Madrid, with about £10m in salary plus £2m in sponsorships from brands like adidas and Braun.

But marketing experts believe his Premier League second coming gives him the chance to cash in further.

According to the Celebrity Davie-Brown Index, promoted by market-research firm REPUCOM, Mourinho’s ratings are much higher in the UK than in Spain for categories such as appeal (66.03 per cent v 47.03) and trust (60.5 v 51.54).

And he also trumps Chelsea stars like John Terry, Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres in most areas except awareness — the latest stats were compiled before his return.

Charlie Dundas, managing director for REPUCOM in the UK and Ireland, said: “Mourinho is in a very small group of managers who are bigger stars than some of their players.

“The Premier League’s global reach is far greater than La Liga’s.

“Any brand he is associated with will get exposure across 10 months of the year in over 200 territories.

“You can’t buy that kind of advertising reach. With around six partners bringing in at least a million a year each, £20m is easily attainable.”

FA's telly welly

THAT ‘kerching’ you will hear today is the FA looking at bids for FA Cup and England friendly TV rights from 2014-15.

BT Sport, Sky, the BBC and ITV are all eager for FA Cup football in particular.

A second round of terrestrial/pay-TV partnership bids is expected. But if BT go in as heavily as predicted, the FA may have to choose between maximising income and having decent games on free telly.

MARIA SHARAPOVA must be a forgiving sort of girl.

There she was at Queen’s cheering on boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov, despite him being partly responsible for the fine form of rival Serena Williams, who took Shazza’s French Open title on Saturday.

While Bulgarian Dimitrov was going out with Serena, he introduced her to his then coach, Patrick Mouratoglou.

And after crashing out at Roland Garros last year, Serena hooked up with Mouratoglou — on and off the court.

OUTGOING LTA chief executive Roger Draper was quick to correct the assumption his successor would be male when asked about the challenges facing British tennis this week.

Which tends to support claims that Sport England chief Jennie Price is on the shortlist and in pole position.
