HE'S A STAR ...Aspas is heading for Liverpool
LIVERPOOL last night completed their second signing of the summer when they snapped up Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas.
He has a release clause of £8.5million but that halves if relegation-threatened Celta go down this weekend.
The two clubs have agreed a £6m fee and the 25-year-old will now join Kolo Toure, a free transfer from Manchester City, at Anfield.
Possibly on his way out of Liverpool is keeper Pepe Reina. Spanish giants Barcelona are looking to replace Victor Valdes, who is moving on.
That has left Reina as hot favourite to rejoin the club where he started his career.
The Kop stopper, 30, said: “It is difficult to say no to Barca, although I am not aware if they are interested. I am very happy at Liverpool.”
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to fight off bids from Europe’s top clubs for prize asset Luis Suarez. And says he will not pay over the top for his own transfer targets.
Schalke want £20m for Kyriakos Papadopoulos, who Rodgers reckons could fill the hole left by retired centre-back Jamie Carragher.
But the Kop chief values the player, who is coming back from a bad knee injury, nearer to £15m.
