DAVID MOYES has hinted he wants Wayne Rooney to stay at Manchester United.
The new Old Trafford boss had talks with Alex Ferguson and Ryan Giggs yesterday in Alderley Edge — with Rooney’s future in the balance after asking to quit the club for a second time.
Moyes, Fergie and Giggs were snapped leaving Alderley Edge Hotel.
They met at 10.30am and spent around 90 minutes in discussions.
One onlooker said: “It looked very cloak and dagger. When each of them emerged from the hotel, they had a look around like they were checking no one had seen them.
“This looked like three men on a mission.”
Moyes later addressed the Cambridge Union and insisted: “Wayne was the last great street footballer — and he is one of the greatest players in the world right now.
“After training he would then go off and play with his mates on the street.”
