Levante vs Zaragoza preview - Postiga staying grounded

Real Zaragoza striker Helder Postiga is revelling in the recent turnabout in form but knows there is still a long way to go before they can celebrate Primera Division survival.

Zaragoza's four-year stay in the top flight looked to be coming to an end after they failed to win any of their opening 15 league matches in 2013, picking up just five points from a possible 45 in the process.

However, things are looking a lot more optimistic for the Aragon outfit now following back-to-back wins over Real Mallorca (3-2) and Rayo Vallecano (3-0).

That has lifted Zaragoza out of the relegation zone and a third successive victory at out-of-form Levante would see them climb up to 15th ahead of this weekend's matches.

Postiga admits the atmosphere at La Romareda is now a lot better, telling El Periodico de Aragon: "Victories bring joy and that's just what we needed, wins to lift our mood."

The Portugal international is also pleased with Zaragoza's impressive recent attacking play: "In the last two games we've created a mountain of opportunities, as well as scoring six goals. The attacking football has changed a little. I'm very pleased with the attitude of the team because this is the path to follow."

Postiga is refusing to get too carried away though, adding: "The team still haven't achieved anything, but what's changed is the dynamic and we've started to win, which is the most important thing in football.

"Our objective (safety) is still some way off and we will have to fight until the end.

"We need to continue winning. We depend on ourselves and that's important, and we need to continue along this path."

While Zaragoza are finding form at just the right time, Levante have been heading in the opposite direction and their last five results have been four defeats and a 1-1 draw at bottom club Mallorca.

Fortunately for Levante they already look to have done enough to avoid the drop, lying nine points above third-bottom Deportivo La Coruna with four games to.

Coach Juan Ignacio Martinez said: "I think that 41 points is a good amount to be safe, but the teams are pushing hard behind us and we've gone several weeks with a win.

"Let's see if we can beat Zaragoza and then we can forget about all that."
