HISTORY BOY ... Arjen Robben helped lead Bayern to a first ever all-German Champions League final
ARJEN ROBBEN heralded Bayern Munich’s historic win as they stormed to a first all-German Champions League final at Wembley.
Robben’s strike, Gerard Pique’s own goal and Thomas Muller’s header completed a record SEVEN-goal aggregate semi-final win over Barcelona to set up a clash with Borussia Dortmund on May 25.
Robben said: “We have created history and are in the final. We’ve beaten a team who dominated Europe for years 4-0 and 3-0. This is our third final in the last four years and it’s time to win it now.
“But we have improved the squad compared to last season.”
On the German final, ex-Chelsea star Robben added: “It’s going to be big. Dortmund have proved over the last three years they are a good team. It will be decided on small details.”
Coach Jupp Heynckes said: “We were outstanding but there is a difference of Barca with and without Messi.”
Barca’s Pique said: “The truth is it isn’t pleasant living through a situation like this.
“The fact Lionel Messi, the world’s best player, did not play was a factor. But his participation wouldn’t have changed it tonight.”
