Barcelona will welcome the news that both Xavi Hernández and Jordi Alba have recovered from injury and will go into the squad for the team's first leg of its Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain, which will take place on Tuesday in Paris.
The Barça duo missed the side's recent game at Celta de Vigo in La Liga due to injury, but both Hernández and Alba trained with the rest of the squad on Sunday morning in a closed-door session presided by Tito Vilanova.
Hernández's absence had been due to a hamstring injury. The midfielder joined up with the Spain squad despite not having received the all-clear from club doctors and played the full 90 minutes of his country's World Cup qualifier against France. Meanwhile, Alba was injured during Spain's match against Finland and was given the all-clear to return to action earlier on Sunday, after also suffering a hamstring injury.
Víctor Valdés, who is suspended in La Liga, also returns to the 21-man squad, while Jonathan dos Santos has been left out by the coaching staff. The complete squad list comprises: Valdés, José Manuel Pinto, Dani Alves, Gerard Piqué, Cesc Fàbregas, Hernández, David Villa, Andrés Iniesta, Alexis Sánchez, Leo Messi, Thiago Alcântara, Javier Mascherano, Marc Bartra, Sergio Busquéts, Alba, Martín Montoya, Eric Abidal, Alex Song, Cristián Tello, Oier Olazábal and Gerard Deulofeu.
