Benzema plays down Mourinho rift

Striker Karim Benzema insists Real Madrid's players have a good relationship with coach Jose Mourinho.
Reports have been rife of discontent behind the scenes at the Bernabeu, further fuelled on Tuesday by comments made by goalkeeper Iker Casillas' television reporter girlfriend that the team is "divided" and that the players do not communicate with Mourinho any more.
However, French forward Benzema claimed everyone was united at Madrid when speaking to the press ahead of Wednesday's Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Barcelona at the Bernabeu.
Benzema told realmadrid.com: "We're very united and we don't have any problem with the coach. I don't know why they say that."
Asked about the difficulties of competing with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain for a starting berth, Benzema added: "It's good for everyone and above all for the club.
"I want to play more, that's normal. I don't know any player who likes to sit on the bench. He (Higuain) also wants to play more, but the decision comes down to the coach and I'll have to work to play more."
