Celta Vigo vs Mallorca preview - Lopez has faith in Celta

I have a say

Celta Vigo midfielder Alex Lopez is confident the Galicians will avoid relegation comfortably come the end of the season despite currently standing above the drop zone only on goal difference.

Paco Herrera's men have often impressed on their return to the Primera Division without getting the results they deserve and Lopez believes that with more experience in the top flight, those results will soon follow.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's home clash against Mallorca, he told Marca: "We are playing well, the sensations are good and we are feeling fine. We are a young team so I believe with the passing of games things are going to improve.

"I think that with the results we are gathering a lot of confidence and we hope to achieve our objective with certain tranquillity."

Herrera will have to do without Gustavo Cabral for the visit of Mallorca this weekend as the Argentine is suspended but Borja Oubina has recovered from the muscle injury that kept him out of last weekend's 3-2 defeat at Rayo Vallecano and he should return in midfield.

Mallorca, meanwhile, are looking to break a run of six consecutive league defeats when they travel to Balaidos and defender Anderson Conceicao has said that streak must come to an end this weekend.

He told the club's website: "It is a battle that we have to win by any means. We face every game with the intention of winning.

"The truth is that we have lost some games due to small details in the play and, on some occasions, we didn't deserve to lose. We are playing well and I believe we can't now lose anymore because we are immersed in a very difficult league and we need to pick up points."

The Islanders are still missing six first-team players through injury, though, so Joaquin Caparros will almost be forced into naming the same side that started in their 4-2 defeat to Barcelona last time out.
