Garcia hopes Falcao lands at City

Manchester City new boy Javi Garcia hopes Radamel Falcao will choose the Premier League champions if he decides to move to England in the near future.

The Atletico Madrid striker is one of the hottest properties in football at the moment after his goal scoring feats over the last few seasons.

Falcao shot to the world's attention following two glorious seasons at Porto where he bagged over 70 goals. The 26-year-old Colombian then made the move to Spain and the Vicente Calderon in the summer of 2011 and has been a stunning success so far with 24 goals in his first season.

And Falcao has already netted 11 times in the current campaign after just seven games leading to frenzied speculation the forward is set for a move to the English Premier League next.

"He's a great player and he can play in any league that he wants at the moment," Garcia told Sport360.

"Falcao has been fantastic. He is scoring a lot of goals in La Liga now and I already know him from Portugal where he did the same.

"I would rather play with him than against him. I faced him for Benfica against Porto when we were both playing in Portugal so I know what he can do. I'd be happy to have him in my team."

Falcao is understood to have a minimum fee release clause somewhere in the region of £46 million.

In the past, the Colombia international has admitted that a switch to the Premier League would appeal to him.

"England? One day, I could go.

"It is a game I have watched for a long time and one day I would like to sample it.

"I used to watch it on television when I was a kid. Players like Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, [Gianfranco] Zola. But the one I supported was [Faustino] Asprilla, when he was at Newcastle.

"I think I could adapt to England. I think I could score goals."

Falcao hit a hat-trick against Chelsea just over a month ago to hand Atletico a crushing 4-1 win in the UEFA Super Cup final.
