Milan could be interested in Rossi

Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi's agent Federico Pastorello is hopeful that AC Milan are considering the possibility of signing the injured striker soon.
Rossi, sidlined till next year with an injury, is said to be interested in securing a move away from Villarreal who were hopeless in their bid to stave off relegation from the La Liga last term.
However, his injury record makes it difficult for the Italian to obtain any significant interest from any club despite his immense ability and goalscoring prowess.
Milan recently signed Cristian Zapata on loan from the Yellow Submarine and Pastorello strongly feels that the name of his 25-year-old client would have propped up amidst the discussions for the Colobian defender.
He hopes that a deal could be finalised before the end of the current transfer window allowing the former Manchester United player to feature in the Serie A in the second half of the current season. Milan, who recently sold Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain, are said to be in the market for a new striker although financial problems at the club prevent them from making a big-money move for strikers from the top European clubs.
"Has there been contact with Milan? I do not know, but maybe with Milan having bought Cristian Zapata there might have been a discussion between the clubs," he told Sky Sports 24.
"We can classify it as a hypothesis. If Milan were interested then there would be no doubt that it would please Rossi. The availability to Milan of the boy would be total.
"I think there will be some movement for Rossi, and not only from Italian clubs, having also seen him play for Manchester United and explode at Villarreal. But he would be perfectly happy to play in Serie A.
"I feel that his transfer could be sorted late in the summer market and then by the end of January he should be available and could make the second half of the season."
Rossi scored 32 goals in all competitions in the 2010/11 season, helping the Spanish club secure an impressive fourth-place finish until an anterior cruciate ligament in a match against Real Madrid in October 2011 threw his career into jeopardy.
