Liverpool are keen on taking Inter Milan striker Luc Castaignos on loan, according to a report.
The 19-year-old Dutch player is valued at £4.5million by the Italians who do not see him having an immediate future at the club.
Inter have already informed Castaignos that they are looking at the possibility of loaning him out or selling him to another Serie A club, but the player has told the club he does not want to stay in Italy unless it is with the San Siro outfit.
"Inter wants to loan me to an Italian club or sell me," Castaignos said to Sky Italia.
"I told them that I don't want to play anywhere else in Italy but at Inter.
"I came to Italy to wear the Nerazzurri colours and not play for any other club.
"Now I must go and Inter will help me find a club.
"I am saddened, I cannot deny it, I am disappointed not to have shown my worth, but this is football.
"It's a decision taken by the club and by me.
"Now I want to join a big club."
As a result, UK newspaper The Sun claims that Liverpool want to take Castaignos to Merseyside on loan.
The 19-year-old joined Inter from Feyenoord 12 months ago in a deal worth three million euros and is contracted to the club until June 2016.
He scored just one goal in six league appearances for Inter this season.
