BERLIN (AP)—Germany striker Miroslav Klose faces four weeks out after injuring a left thigh muscle while training with his club Lazio on Thursday.

The German Football Federation says the Italian club confirmed the extent of the injury Friday.

Klose flew back to Munich Thursday evening for treatment by Germany team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt.

Klose has 63 goals in 114 appearances for Germany, five behind the all-time record set by Gerd Mueller in the 1960s and 70s.
