Ayr recorded a shock 2-1 victory as they condemned Livingston to a fourth consecutive defeat at the Almondvale Stadium.

The hosts took the lead after 12 minutes when Keaghan Jacobs netted from close range after good work by Marc McNulty.

But The Honest Men were level eight minutes later, Mark Roberts from the penalty spot after Andrew McNeil's foul on Keigan Parker.

John Hughes' side came close to regaining the lead but Liam Fox's effort cannoned back off the bar.

Michael McGowan fired the visitors ahead just after the hour-mark when he latched onto a good cross from Parker.

Victory lifts Brian Reid's side out of the relegation zone after recording back-to-back victories for the first time this year.
