Reyes returns to Sevilla

Spanish forward Jose Antonio Reyes on Thursday signed for Sevilla from their La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid until 2015.

"Jose Antonio Reyes' transfer to FC Sevilla was sealed on Thursday morning," the club said on their website.

The 28-year-old returns to the club where he started his career in 1999.

He left in 2004 and has since played for Arsenal, Real Madrid, Benfica and Atletico Madrid, winning a Premier League title at Arsenal and the Spanish league with Madrid.

He also won the Europa League with Atletico Madrid in 2010, but fell out of favour with coach Gregorio Manzano, who was fired last month.

Press reports put the transfer fee at 3.5 million euros ($4.5m), with an additional million euros to follow depending on the club's results.

Reyes should be unveiled by his new club on Friday – a public holiday in Spain to mark Epiphany and the arrival of the 'Reyes' (the three Wise Men).
