Ayr Utd. vs Partick Thistle preview - McManus set for Ayr bow

Ayr have re-signed striker Tam McManus on a short term deal and he goes straight into the squad for the visit of Partick Thistle.

Defender Martyn Campbell is manager Brian Reid's only injury absentee as the Honest Men look to regain form at Somerset Park after a run of four home games without a win.

Reid said: "We have had a few disappointments at home recently and this would be a good game to put that right in.

"Our away form is better now than it has been so it would be great to see off Partick and have the reputation of a really difficult team to face at home back again."

"It will be tough as all games in the First Division are."

Partick are sweating on the fitness of Scott Fox and David Rowson.

Goalkeeper Fox is struggling with a groin strain and experienced midfielder Rowson looks set to miss out with an ankle injury.

On-loan Rangers youngster Kyle Hutton returns to the squad after missing out on Scottish Cup duty at the Ibrox club's request, however Willie Kinniburgh, Iain Flannigan and Ryan MacBeth remain out.

Firhill manager Jackie McNamara is hoping that his players build on their Scottish Cup success over Culter at the weekend.

He said: "It was a good response after a disappointing performance the week before and now we head down to Ayr to face a more than decent side."
