But Vidic, while acknowledging the importance of single-goal victories, did not say it was part of an overall plan.
'Obviously, we want to score more and entertain,' he added, 'We are Manchester United - we are not looking to play for a 1-0 and defend.
'We are always looking to score goals. But I think it’s a big thing when you play okay and win. It shows the spirit and honesty in a team.
'It was the same against Everton. There will be games where we play great football and score many goals and you enjoy that but sometimes you have to defend as well.'
