TROTT OFF ... Vermaelen winces on duty last night
THOMAS VERMAELEN has told fans not to worry — despite his Carling Cup injury fright.
Vermaelen limped off last night on his first start for Arsenal in two months.
Arsene Wenger claimed the Belgium star was in so much agony he "couldn't go on".
Yet Vermaelen insists he is not facing another lengthy lay-off.
He said: "I had a small cramp at the end. Nothing serious. Just went out as a precaution."
Wenger's men saw off Bolton at the Emirates after Andrey Arshavin and Chu-Young Park inspired a 2-1 comeback win.
And the Gunners boss added: "I have to congratulate the team as we had two young full-backs who are usually central players that played out of position.
"In midfield we were very young and we showed good spirit against a good Bolton side."
