Football fans were stunned at the severity of the hammering that United boss Sir Alex Ferguson called "the worst result in my history".
Arsenal-mad TV host Piers Morgan said: "Sir Alex Ferguson should resign. Only decent course of action. I feel like watching a romcom to recover. Maybe Six and the City?"
He was slapped down by Red Devils ace Michael Owen, who did not play. He tweeted: "Let's refrain from talking football as you are clueless. You have a very short memory. I really can't be bothered tweeting to idiots tonight... "
