The Portugal international was highly complimentary of the former Inter boss, claiming he is very 'special' as the club continues hopes for success in the Spanish capital.
Jose Mourinho has been described as the best coach in the world by Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao.
"Mourinho is the best coach in the world. He is special and is a fantastic person," Coentrao told Real Madrid TV. "Mourinho means a lot to me. He was the one who wanted me to play for Madrid and I admire him greatly. I am very grateful to him. As a coach he is the best. A special coach. I have seen many players speak badly about coaches, but not Mourinho."
The 23-year-old was full of praise for his boss as Madrid prepares for Saturday's Liga clash against Betis at the Bernabeu. Coentrao has also taken note of Cristiano Ronaldo's role in helping him adapt to life in the Spanish capital.
"Cristiano is very important for me and has helped me with everything," he said.
