AC Milan Plan £21m Bid for Tottenham Playmaker

Ac Milan are reportedly planning a move to tempt Tottenham midfielder Rafael Van Der Vaart into a move to the San Siro according to Italian sources. The Dutch international was a big hit in his first season at White Hart Lane last term but the Italian giants believe they can lure the former Ajax, Hamburg and Real Madrid man into moving to Serie A with the offer of regular Champions League football and the potential to win major honours.
Massimiliano Allegri has been promised significant funds by his board following a summer of relatively little spending by the reigning Italian domestic title holders and the Ac Milan boss is said to be a big admirer of the Tottenham man and will reportedly make an offer of up to €25m (£21.8m) for the 28 year old.
Redknapp picked up arguably one of the bargains of last season when he nabbed Van der Vaart for just £8m and the goal scoring midfielder adapted to life in the Premier League seamlessly, netting 15 goals and assisting many others as he helped provide a much needed link between midfield and a faltering attack.
Tottenham managed to keep Luka Modric from securing a move to Chelsea and may find it a struggle to keep Van der Vaart from pushing for a move to Italy, not least if by January it appears that the North London club are not likely to mount a challenge to reclaim a top four spot.
Redknapp has watched as the likes of Liverpool and Man City have spent large sums improving their respective squads but has himself failed to make many additions, the likes of Scott Parker and Brad Friedel being the only big names moving to the club with Emmanuel Adebayor coming in on loan whilst Jamie O’Hara, Wilson Palacios, Peter Crouch, Alan Hutton and Robbie Keane all made exits.
AC Milan have made a poor start to their defence of their Serie A crown, having failed to win any of their first three matches and seemingly lacking the kind of cutting edge that Rafael Van Der Vaart may be able to add.
