Aquilani: Scored his first AC Milan goal against Napoli on Sunday

The agent of AC Milan's Alberto Aquilani says he is desperate for the midfielder to surpass 25 games for the club this season.

The 27-year-old is on loan from Liverpool and may make the move permanent at the end of the current campaign if he reaches at least 25 appearances.

He has played three times for the Italian giants and scored in their 3-1 defeat to Napoli last Sunday.

It has been a hectic few years for the Italian international, who failed to establish a place in the team at Anfield before spending last season on loan at Juventus.

Aquilani made 37 appearances for both club and country last season and his agent, Franco Zavaglia, believes there is no reason why he cannot do the same this term.

He told itasportpress: "I just hope that he can play many more matches.

"Even last year, he accumulated a lot of appearances, even though he couldn't even play in the Europa League because he had already done so with Liverpool."

Liverpool signed Aquilani from Roma for a reported £17million in 2009 but look likely to lose much of that price if he moves to the San Siro on a permanent basis.

On the proposed move, Zavaglia said: "Let's see; there are terms already agreed with Milan and we hope that his future is here in Milan."
